Move Strong Pilates – Tuesday 7.15pm – 8.15pm in the Studio
This is not your average Pilates class.
MOVE STRONG PILATES combines classical Pilates with functional fitness and a dash of yoga in a fun and energising workout which will have you feeling noticeably strong and more mobile. The strength and skill gained here will support the rest of your pursuits, whether its climbing, running, raving, yoga-ing or just living life to your fullest.
The class is designed to be challenging but accessible for all as each student works to their current level of fitness.
Expect to sweat, smile, feel your core and learn about your body.
As with a lot of practitioners Claire stumbled into yoga & Pilates with little idea of what she was actually getting herself into to or how deeply she would fall in love with these practices. After years within the professional dance industry it was a relief to be introduced to movement practices, which were holistic and supportive.
Claire’s extensive experience in the dance industry and time as a personal trainer, Pilates and yoga teacher has given her a highly developed understanding and love of all things movement.
She is a full time anatomy geek and an enthusiastic supporter of her students’ goals and aspirations. Her passion is to help others connect to their bodies in a way which feels good, building confidence, offering challenge where needed and assisting them on the journey to strength, ease and connection.
Claire brings this philosophy into classes, offering a fiery yet flowing practise, with a strong focus on alignment and developing strength within the body whilst allowing space for each individual student to have fun and take the journey they need.
Her classes are a sweaty and playful exploration of mind and body, with the aim of finding our brightest and most healthy self. In the words of B.K. S Iyengar’s:
“Healthy plants and trees yield abundant flowers and fruits. Similarly, from a healthy person, smiles and happiness shine forth like the rays of the sun.”
Claire trained as a dancer at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of music and dance. Qualifications include a BA Hons Contemporary Dance, 200hr Vinyasa flow qualification from Yoga London, 100hrs SSYC post grad, 150hrs Chromatic yoga certified, 50hrs Rocket, 60hrs embodied yoga for dance teacher training and STOTT Advanced Mat work Pilates. She is currently undertaking an MSc in Sports and Health Science to continue deepening her knowledge.
